Welcome to The Community College Whitstable Sixth Form. Whether you are already a student at the college or are considering joining us, we would like to extend a warm welcome.
As part of our school ethos of putting learning first, we have redesigned the Sixth Form provision. Following on from conversations with our current Year 11 students, we have updated our curriculum offer. Our staff have sought out new and innovative courses such as ‘Forensic and Criminal Investigation’ to run alongside the traditional courses. You can see our full offer on the Kentchoices4u website.
We are offering a wide range of A Levels for those students looking to take their next steps on an academic pathway. We also offer a range of Level 3 BTEC courses which can be taken alongside A Levels or as a BTEC pathway. For those students who still need to develop their Level 2 qualifications, we offer a selection of Level 2 BTEC courses. We also have the excellent facility of our on-site salon where students can choose to take courses to prepare them for work in the hair and beauty industry.
The Sixth Form have the opportunity to get involved in a range of extra-curricular activities including being part of running the Brew Crew Café. They also have use of their own ICT study area in the Creative building to allow them to carry out independent study when they are not in timetabled lessons.
As a small Sixth Form, all of our students have access to a full academic mentoring programme and will receive individualised guidance for UCAS applications or other progression routes.
Our Sixth Form well-being is of great importance to us and we deliver a range of workshops to help them develop into confident and well-rounded individuals. Our workshops cover aspects from life skills to car maintenance to give them a broad range of skills to equip them for life after school. All our students are assigned an academic mentor to keep them on track and ensure they reach their full potential.
